Beverage Testing InstituteLustrous, deep copper color. Powerful aromas of raisin, toffee, dried fruit and spice. A rich entry leads to a fruity sweet full-bodied palate of toffee, roasted nuts, rancio, salt, smoky peat, sherry, and brown spices. Finishes with a big wave of peppery heat, anise, honey, tannin, and spice. A massively flavorful and sophisticated older Scotch with more smoky peat and sherry character than previous bottlings.
Anthony Dias Blue ReviewsCreamy toffee caramel and marzipan with light smoke, spice and floral notes; extremely lovely.
Winery NotesWith a higher abv to preserve some of the highly complex notes, our 25 year old is matured using a very high proportion of first fill sherry casks, which not only impart a wonderfully rich, nutty spiciness but also an intensely dark and full bodied flavour profile: dried fruits, caramel, dark chocolate, golden toffee and slightly drier floral smoke all vie for your attention. The 25 years spent in oak have not diminished its personality and this whisky is also surprisingly sweet and vibrant, alongside its astonishing depth.
