Terrific depth and concentration marks this wine as a star from the very first sniff, and everything about its deeply fruited, cherry and currant aromas, its supple, slightly fleshy, tannin-balanced palatal impressions and its long, youthfully tough but deliciously promising finish confirms its quality. Wines like this can be very good when young, but this one has so much room to grow that it needs to be allowed the opportunity to mature into a richer, rounder bottling over the next decade.
Tight and compact, yet rich and concentrated, with spicy, vibrant dried currant, mineral, fresh earth and herbs, ending with a nice focus, layered flavors and firm tannins. Best from 2009 through 2015.
Showcasing the unique personalities of small hillside vineyards from Pritchard Hill, Rutherford, and Calistoga our 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet delivers complex aromas of black currant, sweet oak spice, espresso and tobacco. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine makes a sweeping broad entry with briary, black fruit at the core and compelling chocolate flavors that yield to a long chewy finish.
