Campeon tequilas are 100% pure blue agave juice distilled to 80 Proof without any added water. The agave is from "Blue Agave de Superior" the highest regions of Jalisco, Mexico where the soil is so rocky that the plant yield per acre is very low and difficult to harvest. Campeon believes that the harder the agave roots must work to dig deep for scarce water, the higher the concentration of flavor, producing a superior product with intense and concentrated flavor.
Campeon harvests the agave by hand and bakes the Piñas (agave fruit center) in antique brick ovens, before hand-pressing to extract the juice which is fermented in old-style fermentation tanks and distilled in an old-fashioned pot-still. Campeon believes in one single, slow distillation, as opposed to the common double distillation, to prevent the stripping of agave flavor.
