Distinctive and full-bodied, yet balanced with lively acidity. Aromas of black cherry, smoky white pepper and underbrush lead to briary, complex flavors of black raspberry, sage and mocha that finish with zesty tannins.

Saturated ruby. Powerful aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry and boysenberry, with a smoky undertone of dark chocolate and espresso. Weighty dark berry flavors coat the palate and are framed by velvety tannins. Rich but not particularly heavy, with excellent finishing cling and a persistent note of brown spices. Hands off this one for a few years. The skins here were especially thick, Officer told me.
Medium-dark to dark garnet. A seductive nose of cherries, milk chocolate, rose petal, and, of course, the signature Rossi garrigue. As the wine enters the mouth, it quickly coats the palate, offering up flavors of red berries, briary spice, and pepper. Certainly our best Rossi to date and a contender for our best zinfandel of the vintage. Enjoyable now (although we still recommend decanting).
