Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Le Tertre Roteboeuf, has made two of this century's greatest wines. This tiny 11-acre estate, run by one of the most obsessive proprietors in Bordeaux, is aiming for a style of wine that can match the extract and intensity of such great right bank wines as Petrus, Lafleur, L' Evangile, and Certan de may. Both the 1989 and 1990 are extraordinary wines. The sweet nose of coffee, jammy berry fruit, smoke, caramel, and spice soars from a glass of this marvelously concentrated, viscous, layered, smooth wine.
